Derby Bus Station

 1930s bus station to be demolished within five weeks;

  • new development on the same site with no site available for temporary bus station;
  • all bus station pick-up and set-down to be absorbed into main streets outside;
  • no site available for a central information point;
  • each of about 30 street bus stops to act as a ‘temporary bus station’;
  • design and implementation of wayfinding and timetable information for de-centralized ‘temporary bus station’, including supply of street furniture;
  • management of passenger transfer from old bus station into city centre streets;
  • design and implementation of wayfinding and timetable information for new bus station;
  • management of passenger transfer from city centre streets in to new bus station.
