Following an audit of on-street information, the London Buses project involved the design of a new identity, style and content for all publicity material. This was applied to major interchange sites, bus stations and individual bus stops. The range of products included, bus stop flags, informational posters and panels, timetables (including stop specific), interchange information, signage and wayfinding. It was during this project that she and Doug met and first worked together.

Since joining FWT, among others, Elaine has been at the centre of projects for:
Transport for London
First Group
Nottingham City Transport (NCT)
Centro (West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive)
Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (SBMTD)
Chicago – Regional Transportation Authority (RTA)
Austin, Texas – Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CMTA)

Elaine has experience with all stages of a project, from the initial discovery phase and liaising with the client, right through to the creative development and implementation. Learning about the specific problem, by undertaking a thorough investigation, leads her to design solutions that support the goals of the client and the end user. The defining and shaping of raw data, based on real facts, result in a clear, accurate and aesthetic outcome.

Experience has shown that success requires each project be approached with a fresh eye and with no preconceived ideas. In a world of information overload Elaine has an ability to stay focused on what is important.

Elaine lives in Brighton with her husband and enjoys life in the city centre – with music venues and theatres close to home. She is very keen on sport including, boxing training, running (completed first full marathon in April 2011) and yoga. A sunny climate, not too far away, is preferred for a getaway with a quiet beach, a pile of books and good food – she is a keen cook herself.
